Interviews and Auditions

Pre-Professional Auditions

  • Actor must receive UNDERGRADUATE PERFORMANCE degree (BA, BFA, etc) in fields including Theatre, Vocal, Dance, Opera, etc) by 9/1/26, AND
  • Actor must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
  • Actor must have registration validated by the department head of their theatre program, AND
  • Actor must be pre-screened by uploading an audition video.  All video pre-screening must be submitted by 9/22/25. For more details, click here.

Qualified and Regular Auditions

For UPTA 2026, we are asking all applicants to submit a 90-second video with recommendation from a Professional theatre company, defined as a Company that pays actors, regardless of qualifications. All video pre-screening must be submitted by 9/22/25. For more information, click here

  • Actor must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
  • Have a Master Level degree or higher in Theatre (MA, MFA, PhD) OR a 2-year Conservatory Certificate by 9/1/26, OR
  • Be a current member of Equity, OR
  • Have attended previous UPTA auditions within the last 5 years
  • Be signed off by a Professional theatre company, defined as a Company that pays actors.

Production Interviews

  • Production personnel must be available for work year-round (in other words, not going back to school in the Fall or Spring), AND
  • Production personnel must have an undergraduate THEATRE degree (BA, BFA, etc.) in their respective technical, administrative, or artistic field by 9/1/26, OR
  • Have registration validated by a registered 2025 or 2026 UPTA theatre, OR
  • Have registration validated by a Professional theatre company, defined as a Company that pays technicians, OR
  • Have attended previous UPTAs, OR
  • Be an Equity stage manager.

Registered Companies must be hiring for:

  • Paid year-round employment, OR
  • Paid job-in employment, OR
  • Paid internships
